Fotografía del alma... - Soul´s photography...

Nothing better than a riny day ( a pouring one!) to go deep inside.... inside...

If my soul culd be photographied, I think it would look like this...

Buen finde!!

If it had a smell, it would be the yeast´s one.
If it had a sound: the rain´s one.
If it had a flavour, it would be like a "matecito".
And, how would it feel?... like

And yours?

Have a nice weekend!!

Año nuevo maya: tiempos de renovación - Maya´s new year: times of renovation

Last year, by this time, and after some hard times (which we are competing with, since we are in olympic times...) I claimed, even it was July, that a new year began... Now, I got to know that also in this month, tha Maya culture celebrates a new year... so... mayas and me were right!!.
And some posts ago I said that every chronology is good to follow if renovation is the topic...

Connecting with land seems to me the best option for connecting with ourselves...

A winter sunny day is not to waste...

Parsley (it is always good to have some extr), lettuce, cabbage and unknown creeper were the seeds
I planted today.

Lets check out thos I planted one month ago...
(the soil comes from my compost, that is why it may seem dirty)

And time to harvest...
(these are for tonight´s "pucherito"!)

                                                                                                                                   (acelgas - chards)

I share with you something I read this morning while I was having breakfast
"[...] Nature is our great master. [...] Plants are capable of adapt to the most adverse situations to survive, they develop shapes to overcoming adverse climate, predators, changes [...], to revalue changing, movement, new opportunities and creative leisure, will help us to go through future times with more strength and energy"
(Eitorial on "Jardin" winter magazine)

Some days ago befor leaving for a medical test that would probably go wrong (and in fact it did), I was knitting in the sun and thinking "What will happen today?... and don´t want to miss this...".
Now I found out that whatever it happens, you can alway go on kinitting in the sun!

Despite it is cold, lets go under the sun, despite crying, lets wash our face and go under the sun. It is utopic thinking we are no going trough sad times in life, it is not healthy. Crying help us to wash our pain. But we must make clear that Sadness it´s just a temporary company. Planting, knitting, reading, dreaming are ways to remember her that this is not her land, she will not nest here…

Buen finde!!!!

And after the cold day I had to cook something to warm me up... (I was going to make two pancakes but three came out... ok!!!

Lets go out under the sun!!! have a nice weekend!!!

Penita - Little sorrow

This morning I got up and gathered my bones together. I put them in order, the best I could, and scaring away the desire of turning myself into a tear drop and drainning into a puddle, I thanked for my restless soul and curious mind, for my nomad birds who gave me feathers in exchange for breadcrumbs and pieces of fruits...
After all,... the outbreaks go on growing...

Año nuevo mapuche - Mapuche´s new year

Yesterday I got to know ( a bit late) that on 24th June mapuche´s new year is celebrated. I felt, so, the need of saluting our originary people, of connecting to land, of making a little gesture... .
I had been postponing for a while to make a sort of "branch" of the garden, adequate to "Iworkatthreeschools + frosts".
Sometimes, in winter, I find a little hard to go to the garden and cover all the plants becouse there are some days in which a leave home when it is still night and come back when  sun sets. So, with the excuse of mapuche´s new year, I finished to fix the wooden box, fill it with compost´s soil and sowed
some seeds that I´ll be able to have under the covered corridor and closer to the house, so I can take care of them better.

Next comes to add some dry leaves or grass to protect the soil and some little windmills (those which children play with) to remind birds they have their own corner to eat ... (and the plasti fabric to cover them when this odd warm winter remember it is winter...).
I feel that further of this ection itself, it is a good symbol. It is a way of telling Life: "you are welcome... come this way... fill us of you... .
I give you another fact: on 26th July, it is Maya´s new year celebration. Every chronology is good to follow when it is about renovation and life!. Every culture has its own richness, and the more I learn, more I find features in common, I feel they are rivers that meet...

Let´s see what happens!

Most of the flowers have gone away, just for a while... . The necessary time for resting, for keeping new energy, for making us to miss them a bit, so we can appreciate them more when they are back...
Meanwhile, I make some felt partners for the last brave ones...

First: Dyeing time:

Mixing pigments, playing with proportions... finding out what I got from the misterious mixture...
(the leaf seems to want to play too)

Esas hojas doradas ya no están...

Those goldean leaves are not here anymore...

"Bells", is, at least, the popular name of these flowers.... I see them from my dinnin´g room´s window.

(update: thanks to Els, now I know the english name for those flowers is Morning Gories!!. Thank you Els!!!)

"Jasmine from heaven": one of mi favourite´s. It was the color I found hardest to get.

I looove this color. I don´t know her name. But it is the "little daughter" of a plant that grows in one of the schools where I teach. Betty gave it to me, she is a really cool housemaid that gives me outbreaks and the borken cups of the school (I´m gathering them for a future mosaic. I took it home almost one year before I got married. When I moved to my present home, I planted it. And here it is: amazing!!

Have a nice holiday tomorrow for those who live in Argentina!!! (And for those who are not, let´s make an "inner holiday", after all, it is the soul´s mood what it counts!!)

Marcela, from Colorin Colorado, invited us to this great virtual party!: Stone, paper or scissors.
As we have to choos one of this elements, I´ve chosen paper to play!

Enlunada, before being a blog, it was a hand painted t-shirts project, and then, for seven years, a project about handmade diaries and notebooks with handpainted papers... (here, a little bit of the story...).
Here, you can see some of them: my diaries ( a kind of itinerant desk where I write down things like the dentist appointment or movies I want to see or books I want to read) and mi notebooks (my "books of days", my "soul´s harbor", where I get relaxed in the middle of the mealstrom)

Libretas de inspiración dadaísta

Notebooks inspired by Dadaísm

Haciendo efecto marbling.

Making a marbling effect.

My friend Vero (great!) sent some photos of one of my diaries she´s got (so, it isn´t my diary any more, isn´t it? or maybe a bit...)

Gracias Marce por invitarnos a jugar!
A seguir creando!!!

Thanks Marce for inviting us to play!
Let´s go on creating!!

Las vetas de la madera - The stripes of the wood

As last year was suuuuper intense, and, some time ago there were a few sad dates, my dad sent me some pictures he took in which nature shows "how every year is different from another".
I contemplate her and "live her" more, and every time, I learn more about ourselves.
(I include the titles he gave to the images)

                                                                                             El tiempo pasa
                                                                                             Time goes bye

Remeber the stripes of the wood, they show to every one who knows to read them, how those past years were of frozen winters, of pouring rains, dry summers... .
All of them were important, some  created more wood, others more leaves, and made a beautiful picture...
Life is not a circle, some narrow rings, others are longer, every year is different, growing is from inside to outside...

                                                                                                         Tres hermanos

                                                                                                          Three brothers

                                                                                                         Talla en algarrobo

                                                                              Carob carving

                                     Piú avanti

                                                            Dictaduras
                                                             Dictatorships

Una yapita...
A bonus track...

    Esperando un sueño
      Waiting for a dream

A must for "Enlunada"...
(he took it with his telescope, before sunrise)

Buena semana!!

Wahtever the weather is, it always makes us grow, as soon as  we let it make it...
In Buenos Aires, we haven´t seen the sun for ten days. When sun shows up again (becouse it will), give thanks to these clouds for the joy we´ll experience when it iluminate us again...
Have a nice week!
