Hoy mi abuela paterna, Elsa, cumple 85 años. Ela es una mujer dulce, adorable y super graciosa.
De ella he aprendido cuanto amor se puede dar cocinando para otros, a enfrentar la tristeza con la risa y que cada uno tiene la edad que decide tener. (Y a hacer la esponja de levadura!)
Siempre nos ha unido un vinculo estrecho, de profundo amor y cuidado mutuo.
Aqui van algunos recuerdos que tengo de ella...
Today is my grandma`s birthday nº 85. She is Elsa, my father`s mother. A lovely, sweet, hilarious woman.
I have learnt from her how much love can be given by cooking for others, to face sadness with laughter and that you are as old as you decide to be.(And howe to make the yeast sponge!)
We have always been attached by a close relationship of deep love and eachother care

Ésta es una anitgua bombonera que mi abuelo le regaló cuando eran novios.
Ahora bombones ya no hay ... pero está llena de cintas y encajes!
This is an old bonbon box my granfather gave to her when they were fiances.
Now the bonbons are gone... but it is full with ribbons and laces!
Éste es su anillo de compromiso. Prometió dárselo a la primer nieta que se case...
Y aquí está... todo un honor!
This is her engagement ´s ring. She had promised it would be given to the first grandaughter that got married...
And here it is... What a honor!
Y hablando de herencias...
Hoy es el día internacional de la Talasemia: una anemia hereditaria (mas conocida como anemia del Mediterráneo) la clase que yo tengo es la "menor", y no hay poroblema. Pero hay gente que padece la "mayor" y para eso es importante concientizar sobre la donación de sangre. No solo para éste tipo de padecimiento sino para muchos otros!.
Así que no sólo el gusto por la pasta me trajeron de Italia!
Asi que anoten, si no saben que regalarme para mi próximo cumpleaños: cajitas de ácido fólico son bienvenidas!
And talking about heritage...
Today is the World Thalassemia Day : an inherited anemia (better known as mediterranean anemia). I`ve got the "minor" type, and there is no problem. But there are people who suffer from the "mayor" type and that is why it is important to be aware of how important blood donation is. Not only for this kind of disease, but for many others!.
So not only my love of pasta has been brought from Italy...
So, take note, if you don´t know what to give me for my next birthday: folic acid boxes will be welcome!
